Ron's original biography
Hi I’m Ron Belden from Sherbrooke, Quebec.
A retired teacher, I curl out of the Lennoxville and North Hatley Curling Clubs and have past affiliation with the Baie d’Urfé, Sorel(QIT) and Border Curling Clubs.
A Past President of the Lennoxville CC, I am Co-Chair-Membership Committee and have coached junior boys and girls at the provincial level on a number of occasions.A Past President and Junior Chairman of the Canadian Branch, RCCC, I have been a member of the Gordon International Committee since 2004 and President and Junior Chairman of the Estrie District for a number of years.
Competitively, I’ve been to the men’s provincials twice and the men’s senior provincials five times (once as a finalist) and chaired the Provincial Seniors in 2002 and 2003.
Organised the Estrie stop on the Scots Centenary Tour in 2003 and I played against them at Lennoxville.
Past President and Board of Directors of the Wales Non-Profit Seniors Home in Richmond, Quebec and served as Chairman of their Foundation in 2006 and 2007.
I enjoy golf, tennis, folk music, computer-bridge and strumming on the guitar and the old banjo!
